All about Blackad
We treat each client's brand as an individual personality which can be strengthened through words. The right words. As well as web copy, we work on print, press, training and consultancy projects.


A short history
Blackad was born in April 1998. At the time, Alan was Head of Creative at Barkers Scotland. After five years at Barkers, he joined TMP Worldwide as Creative Director. In 2002, he decided to dedicate himself to Blackad full-time.


Alan Black
Alan's been writing for the web since 1997.

He's also won quite a few awards for creativity and copywriting - in Scotland and England.

These include numerous Creams and IPAs. Well - everyone likes a shiny gong.

David Atkinson
David started his career in financial services marketing.

He's got financial services qualifications aplenty, and a copy style that cuts brutally through to what the reader needs.

He's been working on the web since 2002.

Lorraine Hosie
We don't do 'junior'. So even though Lorraine's the baby of the group, she's still been writing copy since 2000.

Lorraine's an expert in tone of voice - and isn't shy of bringing big concepts to small projects.

She also has an original pressing of Belle and Sebastian's 'Tigermilk'. And no, she's not selling.
